Structure

The Salisbury Centre is a registered charity, No SCO14432.

From November 2011, it has been operating as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). This is an incorporated body having charitable status under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.

The SCIO’s registered name is The Salisbury Centre.

We operate as a charity, based on a constitution that outlines our governance system as based on Members and Board of Trustees decisions. Currently, the trustees are the only members and we are reviewing the possibility of extending membership to a wider group of people.

The staff team, and especially the office team, is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Centre. As of August 2025, we also have an Interim Director, working closely with the staff, trustees, and community members to re-imagine our structure, operations, and governance.

After the 2024 Governance Review, we have started the process of creating a number of Subcommittees and Working Groups which aim to involve more people in some of the decisions about the direction of the Centre.
