What is the Chronic Pain Support Group?

Join this open group to connect with others with chronic conditions and explore practices to ease your symptoms.

This group is designed to provide a safe and supportive environment to share, discuss, and explore chronic pain. Participants will have space to discuss their pain experiences in a non-judgemental setting, followed by a guided activity such as mindful meditation, expressive writing, or a guided visualisation.

Each group meeting is centred around a theme and short educational segment. These are focused on the latest pain science and the mindbody approach to helping chronic pain.

The main aim of the group is to have a warm, welcoming atmosphere where you can make friendships and help each other on the path to feeling well.

About the facilitator:

Ed Giles is a former chronic pain sufferer turned coach who is passionate and dedicated to helping others in pain find their path to recovery. He trained as a coach with the MindBodyFood Institute. Additionally, he trained under Dr Howard Schubiner and Hal Greenham to learn the latest and most effective treatments for chronic pain recovery.

Ed offers chronic pain assessments and a coaching program designed to help people with chronic pain get permanent relief from their symptoms.

How might the suggested donation tier system applicable to me?

  • £5 – Concession Tier 1
This tier is for those who are students on a low income, carers, or single parents. It is also for people who are unemployed or underemployed, navigating financial hardship, or facing systemic barriers. If you rarely spend on extras or feel stressed about meeting basic needs, this tier exists so that you can still participate. Your presence matters, and you are welcome here.
  • £10 – Sustainable Tier 2
Choose this tier if you have stable employment or a regular income, are able to meet your basic needs and some wants, and can occasionally go out or put a little money aside. At this level, you don’t often worry about making ends meet.
  • £15 – Generous Tier 3
This option is for those with a comfortable income or savings, who may own their home or have access to family wealth. You might go on holidays, eat out regularly, or shop for pleasure. Contributing at this tier helps support the wider community and those accessing the concession rate.
