Hands & Heart – DIY Practical Care & Connection (Carers Support Group)

Thu 23 Oct | 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

An event for people to explore simple hands-on techniques—including DIYs for self-care, gentle touch, and bonding activities—to enhance connection, comfort, and everyday wellbeing.

Take a gentle pause in your caring role — to nurture yourself, reconnect, and find moments of calm.
Starting April 2025, Breathe & Bloom offers two monthly workshops at Salisbury Centre, specially designed to support unpaid and professional carers — and anyone interested in exploring gentle wellbeing practices.  Our two series — Scent & Stillness: A Sensory Meditation Experience and Hands & Heart: Practical Care & Connection — invite you to explore aroma, gentle touch, and simple relaxation techniques to support both your own wellbeing and the people you care for. No prior experience needed — all are welcome.

Facilitator Bio-  Ying Liu

I am a clinical aromatherapist, specialised in oncology massage and terminal illness care. I am also a teacher of Aromacare Carer Training, a programme designed for carers who have limited time and dynamic lifestyles. Through my professional practice and volunteering work in hospices, I have seen first-hand how carers often feel unseen and unsupported. They need tangible, practical tools to enhance their own wellbeing while continuing to care for others.

This event series is designed to offer those tools—through hands-on learning, gentle touch techniques, and creative self-care activities—to help individuals integrate small but meaningful moments of restoration into their daily lives.

Any donations received will be shared between the Centre and the facilitator, helping to make the events’ programme sustainable as well as to provide some reciprocity towards community facilitators’ time and skills offered.

Where a “suggested donation” is listed, this is just an indication of what the event might cost if it was ticketed.

This is an invitation to practice ‘Dana’ (generosity) – please pay only what you can afford to attend.
