Scent & Stillness

Thu 11 Dec | 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

A Sensory Meditation Experience (Support for Carers)

An event for people to pause, breathe, and reconnect through scent and reflection, supporting wellbeing and resilience—especially for carers and those navigating life transitions.

Take a gentle pause in your caring role — to nurture yourself, reconnect, and find moments of calm.
Breathe & Bloom offers two monthly workshops at Salisbury Centre, specially designed to support unpaid and professional carers — and anyone interested in exploring gentle wellbeing practices.  Our two series — Scent & Stillness: A Sensory Meditation Experience and Hands & Heart: Practical Care & Connection — invite you to explore aroma, gentle touch, and simple relaxation techniques to support both your own wellbeing and the people you care for. No prior experience needed — all are welcome.

About the Event:

This monthly event series combines aromatherapy, guided meditation, and reflective practices, allowing participants to explore scents, deepen self-awareness, and create a personalised blend to take home. Designed for those with dynamic lifestyles, it offers a simple yet joyful anchor—helping participants reconnect with themselves, cultivate resilience, and navigate life’s challenges with greater ease.

Facilitator Bio: Ying Liu

I am a Clinical Aromatherapist specialising in oncology massage and terminal illness care. I also teach the Aromacare Carer Training program, designed for carers with limited time and dynamic lifestyles. Through my practice and volunteer work in hospices, I have seen first-hand that carers are often the missing piece in the wellbeing puzzle. They give so much to others but need to feel valued and supported themselves.

These events offer a space for participants to pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves. Using aromatherapy, guided meditation, and reflective practices, they will explore simple yet powerful techniques that help them feel more grounded, resilient, and true to themselves—even while carrying the responsibilities of caregiving or navigating life’s transitions.

About Donations:

Participation in our community-led events is on a voluntary ‘by donation’ basis. This means that nobody is expected to make a payment if they cannot afford to do so.

Any donations received will be shared between the Centre and the facilitator, helping to make the events’ programme sustainable as well as to provide some reciprocity towards community facilitators’ time and skills offered.

Where a “suggested donation” is listed, this is just an indication of what the event might cost if it was ticketed.

This is an invitation to practice ‘Dana’ (generosity) – please pay only what you can afford to attend.

To donate:

Card payment option available at the entrance hall (Please enter the event name before making payment)
