Joanne

I am Jo, a deep tissue and holistic massage therapist. I started my massage journey with Jing Advanced Massage Training, a highly renowned massage school, and I use the signature Jing blend of Eastern and Western techniques to reduce stress and relieve pain. I offer holistic massages tailored to each client which can include deep tissue body massage, head massage and gentle stretching.

The most special part of massage for me is feeling the connection with my clients and seeing the relaxed smiles on their faces after the massage!

FAQ

What will happen during my appointment?

We’ll begin by having a quick chat about what you’d like from your treatment today. If it’s your first appointment, you’ll also need to fill in a quick form.

Once we’re finished, I will leave the room for a few minutes so that you can get undressed and hop onto the couch under the towel. I’ll come back in and we’ll begin the treatment. You will always be under the towels, except for the area I’m working on.

Depending on the treatment, we might do some muscle stretches. If we do, I’ll let you know what you need to do. Otherwise, you can just lie back and relax. After the treatment I’ll leave the room again so you can get dressed. I’ll ask how the treatment was for you, and if needed I can recommend you some stretches to do at home. Then, it’s goodbye until next time!

What will I wear?

You can wear as much or as little as you are comfortable with, but most people undress down to their underwear for massage. You will always be draped with towels apart from the place where I am working, to ensure you feel comfortable, warm and safe. If you would like to keep more clothes on, just let me know and I can adapt the treatment. I will need to ask you to remove large pieces of jewellery during the treatment.

How will I feel afterwards?

You are likely to feel quite sleepy, especially if we’ve decided to go for a relaxing treatment! If you have things to do after the appointment, we can add in some energising strokes towards the end of the treatment to help wake you up. To help your body to recover and flush out any remaining toxins, it’s a good idea to stay well hydrated and avoid alcohol and smoking for 24 hours after your massage.
